Follow up within 24 hours
The day after is when guests remember the night most warmly. A short, useful follow-up keeps that going.

The follow-up is the most skipped step in hosting, and one of the most valuable. It reminds guests of a good night, helps them follow up with the people they met, and makes them more likely to come back.
What to include
- A thank-you: short and specific. Mention one moment from the night.
- Photos, the recording or the slides, whatever you promised.
- Anything that helps people reconnect, like links to the speakers or the guest list if people opted in.
- One question, like a rating or "what should we do next time?". One question gets far more answers than a survey.
- The next event, or a link to follow your calendar if there's no date yet.
Write to no-shows differently
People who registered and didn't come aren't lost. They were interested. A separate note ("Sorry we missed you, here's what happened, and here's the next one") keeps them warm without making them feel guilty.
Thank the people behind the scenes
A personal message to your speakers, venue, volunteers and sponsors costs you five minutes and makes the next event far easier to put together. Tag them when you share photos.
