Marigold Project
The Marigold Project invites you to the 34th annual Festival of Altars, a Día de los Muertos celebration honoring loved ones through art, remembrance, and community. Held at Potrero del Sol Park, also known as La Raza Park, the festival brings families together to create and view intricately decorated ofrendas honoring ancestors. For more than three decades, these community altars have celebrated loved ones while also reflecting on broader social and political issues. This year’s theme is “Familia: Entre raíces y el Cielo,” which translates to “Family: Between Roots and Heaven.” Organizers invite visitors to reflect on family as a living ecosystem and on families around the world experiencing displacement, separation, and violence.
