Fiction Book Club - The Night Watchman

Join us at Sansaar Books for the first meeting of our new Fiction Book Club! Our first pick is The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich (Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa). Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, The Night Watchman is set in 1953 on the Turtle Mountain reservation in North Dakota and inspired by Erdrich’s grandfather, who fought a Congressional bill to “terminate” Native nations. Warm, funny, and deeply humane, it’s a story of love, resilience, and a community standing up for its future. Gather with us to discuss the book, share perspectives, and build community with neighbors and fellow readers. When: Saturday, December 12 | 4-5.30pm Where: Sansaar Books (6500 Fairmount Ave, Suite 1, El Cerrito) Access: Open to all / Free RSVP Get the Book: Copies are available for purchase in-store at Sansaar Books or online at sansaarbooks.com. Content note: includes sexual exploitation and violence against women. RSVPing helps us get an estimated headcount for seating and ensures you receive a reminder email before the discussion!
