About event

Greptile is hosting their second edition of Blackboard Lectures on Tap where developers, founders, and researchers give talks on things they’re working on, thinking about, or know way too much about. Come learn something new, ask questions, and stick around for conversation over light bites, cocktails, wine, beer, and NA drinks. Each edition will feature a new speaker and new topics. First we'll hear from Nick Khami (Inference @ Morph) on What makes cached tokens so cheap? Claude Code silently updated pricing on their max plans to make cached tokens completely free. How can they afford to do this? Will openai and open source models follow suit? Is nvme storage going to get more expensive? Second we'll hear from Ficus Kirkpatrick (founder/CEO of Quiver Research Inc, founding team Android) on Software is San Francisco. Why does the breaker flip in your apartment when you run the microwave? Why do Android apps have to ask permission to access the internet? It's actually the same reason. Last but not least we'll hear from Rohan Kumar (Researcher at Greptile) on Why is quantum computing taking so long? Quantum computing has been "ten years away" for decades. What's taking so long? This talk is a crash course on the road to practical quantum computing: why people care, how to build one, and why the finish line is finally in sight About Greptile: AI code review backed by Benchmark, Initialized Capital, and Y Combinator. Our agents review 1B+ lines of code each month for teams at NVIDIA, Coinbase, Brex, PostHog, and Substack.
