About event

ralphleon via Flickr / CC BY-NC-ND 2.0Just a block from the ofrendas at Potrero Del Sol Park, the Mission’s annual Día de los Muertos Procession brings music, art, and cultural traditions to the streets. Thousands of people gather to watch musicians, artists, Aztec dancers, and community groups make their way through the neighborhood, alongside food vendors and artists offering skull face painting. Organized by Comité de Rescate Cultural (also known as El Colectivo del Rescate Cultural), the procession honors loved ones who have passed away while celebrating the Mission’s Latino cultural heritage. Aztec dancers lead ritual dances at intersections along the route, joined by musicians and other performers. The 45th annual procession takes place Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, beginning at 22nd and Bryant streets before heading south on Bryant, west on 24th Street, north on Mission Street, and east on 22nd Street. The procession starts at 7 pm, with dancers gathering earlier.
